Tehilla Learning Centers

Tehilla Learning Centers in Beit Shemesh and Modiin

Avrah & Adi, Tehilla’s sherot leumi girls are running an afternoon learning center for Olim Chadashim in Modiin.

Some 30 children, between the ages 6-17, are learning while having fun. They receive individual help with homework, get an opportunity to practice Hebrew with the children, and enjoy special activities, games and even a good laugh... After all, learning doesn't always have to be a totally serious experience.

If you aren't in our learning centers today, why not join us with the other kids...

We'd love to see you....

"Kids for Kids"

A unique encounter between Olim and Israeli children.

The “Kids for Kids” project is a series of meetings held between Israeli kids and Olim kids from the 4th grade in the “Amit” school in Reut and the Ulpan in Ironi A’ high school in Modiin. This project is jointly offered by: the Municipality of Modi'in's Absorption Department, Tehilla and the “Amit” elementary school in Reut.

The purpose of the project is to give kids the practical tools to learn how to become closer to one another, long before language skills and knowledge of Israeli life become second nature to the new Olim children. On the experiential level the project is designed to encourage kids on both sides of the cultural spectrum to internalize important social values. The helpers and the helpees develop a new framework for communication and dialogue.

The activity filled gatherings have included till now: orientation, jointly preparing and distributing Mishloach Manot, Purim party for Olim, fun-filled sport day for Shavuot. Two more gatherings will take place under the name “Babayit Beyachad” (home together). Held under the auspices of the Jewish Agency, the ultimate purpose of this program is to enable Olim and Israeli families to connect better so that they can provide mutual support for each other.
