Masuah- Young Latin Olim Organization in Israel

MasuahMasuah is an organization created for young religious olim in the ages of 18-35 from Latin-American countries. Masuah works to strengthen the Judaism of Olim from Latin America who live in Israel and in exile.

Masuah has two main targets:

1. To assist Jews in Latin American countries by strengthening the roots and Jewish identity while emphasizing the values of Erez Israel.

2. Assisting in absorption of Jews who made Aliyah or are interested in doing so, in every field, from technical (with the help of Tehilla movement) to social issues.

In order to implement Masuah's targets, the Masuah team had built with practically no economic help and completely voluntarily, the biggest website on Judaism, Zionism and Israel. The site is divided into different sections such as Machsevet Yisrael, history, Zionism, kashrus, torah she'beal pe, torah and science, Jewish and Israeli music, anti-Semitism, Shabesses and holidays, aid to young Jews who are  interested in making Aliyah, advertising the possibilities to studying in Israel, prepared peulot in Spanish for madrichim in the different youth groups, parasht shavuah, interactive questions and answers with Rabbi Brilka-the Rav of Kakk"al, Rabbi Berenbaum- the head of Amiel institute, and Rabbi Maaravi – an Argentinean Rabbi.

For two years now, Masuah sends, in cooperation with the Zionist seminars, youngsters who live and study in Eretz Israel, to different communities in South America, to attend as madrichim.

The Masuah team, assisted by the Tehilla movement, organizes Shabesses for groups who arrive in the country. During the Shabesses there is an attempt to stimulate interest with the participants regarding the varied cultural wealth which can be found in the country.

Another important work area of Masuah is helping olim who find it difficult to preserve their Jewish identity, while studying in universities or working. Therefore Masuah, the only organization who operates in this field, runs a regular religious program of Torah classes for Spanish speakers in two different centers in the country.

Masuah organizes Shabesses for single and married olim in which many subjects are discussed including Judaism, current issues, the society in Israel and more. We emphasize the social field and work in order give responses to the needs of the olim.

Despite great efforts on behalf of the Masuah team, the activities are limited due to budget problems. Therefore, we would appreciate ideas which can help us with our various activities. With the help of extra budgets we can become a significant factor in educational matters for the Aliyah from Latin America.
