Welcome to YTA: Yerushalayim Torah Academy!

Our Mission:

Over the past few years, there has been a large increase in Aliyah from English speaking countries; The United States, Canada, Australia, England and South Africa.  Yerushalayim Torah Academy is being established to meet the educational needs of English speaking olim and to help them acclimate to Israel.

Yerushalayim Torah Academy (Y.T.A) will offer a full G.E.D. program (to be finished at the end of 10th grade) and a full Bagrut program (to be concluded by the end of the 12th grade).  It is our profound desire to create a÷äéìä  that will serve as our talmidim's support system so that they can comfortably acclimate into life in Israel.  Y.T.A. will offer a high level of excellence in education, while at the same time focusing on the needs of every individual.  Y.T.A is dedicated to imbuing the students with an excitement and a love of learning.

Limudei Kodesh:

Gemara - The goals of our Gemara shiurim include; the development of the skills necessary for independent study of the Gemara and for basic evaluation of the process of p’sak and halakhic argumentation. These goals are facilitated by students' ability to think and express themselves in the "language" of the Gemara.  A primary focus of our ninth and tenth-grade classes, accordingly, is to give students a large working vocabulary of the most common and significant terms found in the Gemara and mefarshim.

Tanach - Y.T.A. shiurim will have three main goals.

  1. Iyun - in depth knowledge of the sections studied, along with improved reading skills.
  2. Hashkafa – exploration of the values and ideals that can be learned from Tanach and applying these to their everyday life.
  3. Bkiut - overall knowledge of all areas of Tanach will be encouraged.

Our aim is to consolidate study skills including; reading, acquisition of a core vocabulary, and exposure to various meforshim to encourage comparative studies of these commentaries so that talmidim can discern the textual and logical basis for the various opinions of the meforshim.
